Thank you. My claustrophobic wife has agreed to walk through that tunnel when we visit London in November.

Actually the tunnel is well lit and full of tourists and locals

I had to wait for this moment and also had to edit out one person (given the game away ...)

I know, I was once a local.  :) I wondered when you managed to find the tunnel so empty.

I once treated my wife to a romantic weekend in London staying just near Greenwich which looked like a great location and the price was OK for the hotel. We got there to find that the Docklands Light Railway was closed that weekend for repairs meaning we were effectively stranded on the wrong side of the river. We decided to walk through the foot tunnel which was an interesting experience but takes much longer than expected and brought us out at Island Gardens where there really wasn't anything around. We eventually made it to a tube station and spent the day in the city. Getting back to the hotel was a nightmare which involved tubes, trains and a taxi. There was probably a much easier way of getting round but we don't get down there that much and had no clue. All adds to the experience I guess!

The problem with the isle of dogs is that if either the jubilee line or DLR is down you are screwed .....

For what it's worth my tip is to use the boat. It's glorious to motor down the river with the spray, breeze and views
