I can't get the IQ quality I want from my D-Lux (109) by processing from RAW in LR but I want to give it another try before skipping it of.

I think I always end up with too much noise even by ISO 160, or maybe it's just the lower resolution when comparing to the results I easily gets from my M9.

How much noise reduction du you normally apply by different ISO?

Is there anybody having a good set of adjustments to LR to be used by import to LR?

Any other hints would of course be appreciated

The D-Lux has a lower base resolution and sharpness, the smaller sensor doesn't per se show more noise than the M9, less actually at higher ISOs

Can we se some examples of the noise you mean with Exposure information etc.

Yes i see hardly more than one stop difference between DL109 (LX100 for me) and M240 as far as digital noise is concerned. Meaning that NR is not an issue up to 1600 iso for me (vs 3200 for M240 & 6400 for A7s mod). Better avoid underexposure though but the same is true for M240. Test shot at 1600 iso here. C1's default NR setting, 8MB file: https://photos.smugmug.com/Other/Samples/i-KqpNCkq/0/D/P1000177_c1si-D.jpg. FWIW.

  • 3 weeks later...

I loaded the copy of lightroom that came with the109 and was immediately disappointed. I obtain visibly better results processing the 109 raw files with the Phase One Capture One Pro software that I use with my Leica M files. I was a bit disappointed with LR but been using C1 pro for around 8 years. Will continue using it with the D Lux 109.
