Mr.Q Posted August 21, 2016 Share #21 Posted August 21, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) I think both cameras compliment each other well. The M is the world's fastest MF camera, and the Q is currently one of the fastest AF cameras. One thing to note is that you would need an external OVF to accurately frame a 24mm lens. If you're serious about landscape photography, I would return your 262 for a 240 with liveview. Liveview will help with food photography as well. Digitom Posted September 3, 2016 Share #23 Posted September 3, 2016 Hi G3rald, yes, I am looking forwad to see the photos. Well, you meant RAW. I cannot talk about this unfortunately because until today I am (due to less time in free time) using the pics OOC, mean in fact: JPEG. But sure there is another "style" between M and Q. If one loves more the M style, the Q is too different maybe. I am a little bit surprised because in the german forum section there are some people talking about a strange Q JPG quality, even some talk about a not satisfying (and bad!) BQ OOC and they give the cam back. Well, mabe this is a kind of "critic on a high level" I think. BUT: My 1st impressions was also the Q JPGpics have stronger contrast and colors are more "present". More then X1 has, more then D-Lux 5 had an also my Digilux2 was different. The exposure value for my Q i have to set up to +0.3 and the contrast to "reduced". Unusual for my Leica setup, normally I set the exp.value to -0.3 and JPG setup is standard. But my cam is quite new, and I will have to make more experiments, especially with different setups and exposure series fotos. In general I have to say RAW is sure always better, because one can adjust the levels as required for the personal needs. So the JPG is always some compromise. I would be interested is the Firmware update changed something in the JPG quality??? Please some information, because I did not install the setup yet. greetings Thomas
