Is that Wratten #8? What about code 13061 orange and 13063 green? Â Thanks M

Michael Geschlecht Posted August 9, 2016 Share #2 Â Posted August 9, 2016 Hello Mandelbrot, Â Welcome to the Forum. Â Modern thru the lens meters in cameras will generally adjust for the appropriate compensation factor when you put a filter on a lens. Â All you have to do is put the filter on. Don't forget the lens hood because when using filters there is more of a possibility of flare since the filter surface is more exposed to outside light sources then the front-most element of the lens is when there is no filter. Â Having said that:Leitz at 1 time made 4 yellow filters which were numbered: Â 0, 1, 2 & 3. Â Most of today's yellow filters are either Leitz #1 which is equal to a K1 which is equal to a Wratten #6 Â which has a filter factor of 1.5 which means that when you are using a camera WITHOUT A BEHIND THE LENS METER you should set the separate exposure meter to give you 2/3ds of a stop of extra exposure so that: ISO 100 film would be used with a meter set to ISO 64. Â The other alternative would most likely be a Leitz #2 which is equal to a "K2" which is equal to a Wratten #8 which has a filter factor of 2 which means that when you are using a camera WITHOUT A BEHIND THE LENS METER you should set the separate exposure meter to give you 1 stop of extra exposure so that: ISO 100 film would be used with a meter set to ISO 50. Â What are the names or numbers written on the other 2 filters since I don't have them by model number in my reference data?Best Regards, Â Michael
jplomley Posted August 12, 2016 Share #3 Â Posted August 12, 2016 Are these Leica B&W filters any better for the MM1/MM2 spectral response than bog standard B+W or Heliopan, because if not, they are priced quite high, no?
