Colin1974 Posted August 6, 2016 Share #1 Posted August 6, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) What is the greatest bargain you've ever purchased? Nearly a year ago, I bought a mint X2 (no outer box or software) with grip and spare battery for £450. A few months later, I got an X-Vario with grip (also mint), but no packaging or software, for £850. Colin.

BAASCH Posted August 7, 2016 Share #2 Posted August 7, 2016 I bought an X2 in very fine condition, in its original box, and with the leather Leica case, for €500, from a professional photographer who said she preferred her huge DSLRs and had found no use for the little wonder (which is what I would call it). I chastised her for her ignorance by talking €90 off her original asking price. Justice was served. I bought my X Vario new, but for some reason it was on sale for €1.700. The next day, however, the price had reverted to the normal level, a few hundred more. It included Lightroom 6. Both are wonderful machines. Ceterum censeo the X Vario deserves a firmware update. jenniferx Posted February 5, 2017 Share #5 Posted February 5, 2017 I got my x2 for £680 (as good as new condition, original box etc...) just after Christmas. I had missed out on one on MPB that was being sold for £580 around the same time, I'm sure I could have got one a bit cheaper but I was impatient! I still think the price wasn't too bad though... Musotographer Posted February 5, 2017 Share #6 Posted February 5, 2017 I got my X Vario last summer, mint, including half case, grip and two batteries for £800 (I think), and I already had the EVF2. It's a marvellous camera. And I got an almost mint Sony A7II for the same amount the previous year, so I am well covered for when the M9P has to go off on its hols. Herr Barnack Posted February 18, 2017 Share #9 Posted February 18, 2017 As it turns out, there are two kinds of bargains. I have yet to find any bargains (for the buyer) that have the red dot attached to them. A while back, I did see a flea market type camera store that was attempting to sell a run down used 35mm Summicron for 90% of the price of a new 35 Summicron. That's what I'd call a "bargain" - for the seller.
Trivette Posted February 18, 2017 Share #10 Posted February 18, 2017 My best ever bargain was a like-new X Vario.
gnuyork Posted February 23, 2017 Share #11 Posted February 23, 2017 My best bargain is for the barely used X1 with Leica shoe mount finder, both cases, and an extra battery, all boxes and papers with an unused LR license for under $700 (this was at least 4 years ago). Recently the same seller offered to sell me the X2 (also barely used) for $250. Think I might jump on that, but the X1 has been so good, I don't really need the X2. GRBrown Posted March 2, 2017 Share #12 Posted March 2, 2017 I ordered a used X-Vario last week, which the dealer described as including only the camera and battery for $1050.00. When I opened the shipping box this week, I found an X-Vario box, still in the factory shrink wrap. I'm the happy owner of a new X-Vario.
