otto.f Posted July 23, 2016 Share #8 Posted July 23, 2016 Alone in the church with her thoughts. Leica M9 and Leica APO Summicron 90 mm. 1/24 SEC f2.8 ISO 640. Indeed one can ask what God's plan is for the world of today, this is what her mimic conveys to me (Very good example of what a APO Summicron 90 can deliver in the hands of a good photographer)
Steve Ricoh Posted July 24, 2016 Share #9 Posted July 24, 2016 At a tangent, I'm really impressed with what can be done with a 90mm APO 'in the hands of a good photographer', as Otto.f states, and Jhon the Warrior' was another who could entice magic from said lens. But as I see it, for someone like me who struggles with a 50/f1.4 to hit the spot on a regular basis (see also the article by Overgaard on focusing a RF - even Thorsten admits to missing shots wide open and simply accepts the attrition) then however attractive the 90 appears, it's not a lens for me. Ok, that's saved me some £s, $'s groats or whatever currency I have available!
vhfreund Posted July 24, 2016 Share #10 Posted July 24, 2016 Absolutely magic. Perfect dreamy lighting. Congrats !!! Theodor

Now walking in the street with persons coming to me in the opposite direction i am able to nail the focus of my APO 90mm at F4 Of course i see the warrior doing the same but at F2.............with a very fast walking subjects but at the moment i am not able to do it...........so lets continue practicing

But seriously, I'm aware it's practice and yet more practice. I hope Jhon is keeping well, tell him he is missed here on the forum. I see his posts on Flickr so I know he's quite active on the street.

Neko Posted August 2, 2016 Share #18 Posted August 2, 2016 Thanks for your quick replay. I just picked a 90AA a week ago and so far I´m loving the results. In Madrid I used to go to el Rastro on sundays for street shooting. If you happen to come to Madrid would be a pleasure to buy you a beer BTW. Your Spanish is perfect ( much better than my crappy English)
