Leica UV filter made in Japan ?

Can't imagine that Leica did produce own filters in the last decades at all, they closed their glasslab long ago.

Perhaps they were bought from B&W / Schneider Kreuznach.

Might be they buy from Hoya in these days, a highly regarded name in filters:

But that's only my guess.

I saw a recently acquired B+W UV/IR cut filter .   None of my older B+W ones have the cut designation.   The font is smaller and precise and really nice instead of the blocky German letters.   It seems to do a good job on 24 3.8  on M8 for the owner.

FWIW, I only have one Leica filter for the M8,  60 mm and it is plastic, not glass.   I would not want this for a daily used lens,  but 21 pre ash is not a big user for me.   24 3.8 is a winner.
