D-Lux cannot be repaired?

After waiting more than 5 weeks for a response for a frozen or "wedged" lens, Leica Repair (USA) informed my camera store the needed repair part was "no longer available." How is this possible with a Leica recently released, and only a year after purchase? And yet "new" D-Lux 109 are currently available on Amazon and elsewhere. A mistake?

Only a year after purchase? Surely it is under guaranty? So there is an obligation to repair or replace. Normally a Leica camera is repairable for at least ten years after production end, even Panasonic Leicas.

They are discontinuing the 109 (new model coming?), they have no black ones left, but they do have gray ones which they should be able to send to you.  I agree with Adam.

Many thanks to everyone for information and ideas.

I have been in touch with Germany (where I was given a tour and had good conversation last September), and they have contacted USA. Am assuming a positive outcome. But discontinuing so soon? And only gray? (Amazon USA still lists black for sale.)

Are you sure that they are discontinuing the D-Lux (Typ 109) ? How long has that model been out (available) - I just purchased a brand new black model.
