I have rented a 90-280 for a project later this week and will report if I find anything that others have not yet reported.   But you naysayers should try it out.   The great thing is that you will no longer complain about the size and weight of the 24-90. :D

the 90-280 is not much bigger than my Sony 70-200/4, and this is a nice achievement!

The Sony 70-200 f4 G OSS?

If so, the 90-280 weighs more than twice as much (65oz vs 30 oz), is two and half inches longer, and 82mm thread vs 72mm.

Not close by my standards.  Maybe you're talking about a different lens?

Absolutly - everytime when I'm switching from 90-280 to 24-90 I' m thinking: what a nicke small lens.

I find it definatly heavier/bulkier to carry than the 80-200/4.0 offers from Canikon etc.

However not much worse than the f2.8 lenses 70-200 but I am amazed by IQ.

I still think a nice and small 90-180/4.0 would be a usefull addition.
