Advertisement Posted November 18, 2016 Posted November 18, 2016 Hi Guest NEIL-D-WILLIAMS, Take a look here Leica SL or Hasselblad X1D. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Jeff S Posted November 18, 2016 Share #702 Posted November 18, 2016 (edited) Is the IVF something that can be upgraded with a firmwear upgrade The Fuji GFX EVF might be better, and it will be removable, possibly allowing for future upgrades without changing bodies. It also is designed to tilt and swivel (with an adapter). The LCD screen is also articulating. One person's 'ugly' (as you call it) might be another person's beauty. I'll be testing all options....no rush. Jeff Edited November 18, 2016 by Jeff S

steveBK Posted November 18, 2016 Share #704 Posted November 18, 2016 Upgradeable is the pipe dream, though I'd be shocked if they accomplished it. The problem is most cameras EVFs are Sensor & Processing chip limited in terms of both resolution and refresh rate. I don't get the impression they are going to spend extra for an imaging pipeline that can feed data faster than it can (currently) be read. pop Posted November 18, 2016 Share #706 Posted November 18, 2016 Can the adapter not have a longer flange?? It's in the opposite direction.
Guest NEIL-D-WILLIAMS Posted November 18, 2016 Share #707 Posted November 18, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) It's in the opposite direction. So pop you would need a shorter adapter is that correct??
pop Posted November 18, 2016 Share #708 Posted November 18, 2016 As the lens of the X1D sits closer to the sensor than the lens of the S system, you'd have to mount the X1D lens within theS body , using an adapter of negative length, I think. Guest NEIL-D-WILLIAMS Posted November 18, 2016 Share #709 Posted November 18, 2016 Okay I've got it.............I guess it was wishful thinking that I would have been able to use the XQD lenses on my S. So forward thinking; Leica S007 for studio/Landscape Nikon D5 for fast angry stuff like Safari, motor sports, and Birding Hasselblad 503CW for my love of shooting film Hasselblad X!D for Street and travel Photography iPhone 7 for everything else I think I'm covered :)

Jeff S Posted November 18, 2016 Share #712 Posted November 18, 2016 Sure, but then you'll get all confused when the zoom is released....and before long you'll end up with another load to carry. There's still nothing for street/travel like an M.....even though you say you have no interest in the forthcoming one. Plus you've yet to experience large format film for landscape. And who knows about an 007 successor. The X1D only became known a short while ago....and I anticipate other models given its early popularity, possibly a 100 MP version. The brand battles are also just getting started. Jeff

Jeff S Posted November 18, 2016 Share #716 Posted November 18, 2016 (edited) I dont do Zooms Jeff........... Funny.....you apparently just made an offer for an S zoom this week.... http://www.l-camera-forum.com/topic/265885-opinions-on-the-vario-elmar-s-30-90-asph/?p=3150777 And that's not even the first time you considered the S Vario and asked for forum feedback. Don't feel bad, Neil, we find it hard to keep up with you, too. Or do you think we don't read your other threads? Jeff Offering 4500 for a 9k lens is taking the piss not a serious offer...............Seriously I don't do zooms. I have the three Nikon superdupers and only ever use the 70/200mm (lovely lens with fantastic bouquet). Now talking about making offers, I have asked 3 different folks (two on eBay) and one on LUL for there Hasselblad 300mm H lens as I wouldn't mind getting it to use on my S007 :)
Jeff S Posted November 19, 2016 Share #718 Posted November 19, 2016 $4500 will buy you two brand new native primes for the X1D. You've been dabbling for over a year with the possibility... http://www.l-camera-forum.com/topic/246708-question-about-this-lensleica-30-90mm-f35-56-vario-elmar-s-asph-lens/?p=2842351 Why bother others with the questions and offers if you genuinely have zero interest? EoinC Posted November 19, 2016 Share #719 Posted November 19, 2016 (edited) Okay I've got it.............I guess it was wishful thinking that I would have been able to use the XQD lenses on my S... Also (in addition to not being possible to mount close enough to the S-007 sensor), the XQD lenses, whilst likely to be great for the X1D, are unlikely to offer you anything over your current S lenses. Eoin That's why I don't do zooms.................I have all the DOF covered with my Primes I was chatting with a bloke over on the Talk Photography Forum and he had a shot at the X!D and he said that he also hates IVF but found that the IVF on the X!D wasn't all that bad......................Im getting excited about heading to Scotland on the 20th Dec, not only to hold my new grandson but to have a play with the X!D
