And I wait for Sigma Foveon ff... In a preferred world, I would love to base most of the gear around the L-mount; the L-primes, in particular, are fantastic.

Kind of my thinking too, at least imho( i) I think the S1R in high resolution mode produces higher image quality than the S006/7 (higher resolution, high acuity, and especially no moire or false colour), especially with the magnificent SL primes; (ii) I still use an M7, and like that I can keep my M 75mm as part of a L-mount ecosystem via the adapter.

It’s a tidy package of 2 cameras, with the S1R especially good for multiple things (ie, fast capture when handheld AND ultra-high Rez on a tripod for landscapes).

At the moment I want one less camera system and think I can lose the CL... when I want a compact travel setup the X1D does the job, especially combined with my venerable, but much used GRII that is truly pocketable (and can separate focus from shutter!) and will be my only APS-C camera moving forward I think.

That leaves me (esoterica aside) with the X1D as my “main” system for landscape, travel, hiking, everyday shooting; Leica SL (currently on SR1) as the “workhorse” allrounder; Nikon D850 only for shooting birds on a 500 f/4 (hoping Sigma will bring an L Mount long lens); Leica MA and M246 Monochrom for film/B&W. I use the Monochrom a huge amount as an everyday walk around camera.

Obviously a ridiculous truck load of gear... but I do enjoy this hobby!
