Milan_S Posted June 20, 2016 Share #1 Posted June 20, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) I love my Leica Monochrom (CCD) and sometimes use flash. I bought from the metz 45CT4 (version pre digital) with bracket from a friend. Can I use it with the de sca 351 and sca 300A cable on the MMv1? How can I use this safely on the Monochrom (CCD)? What do i need to connect it to use TTL? Thank you all for your advice!
Advertisement Posted June 20, 2016 Posted June 20, 2016 Hi Milan_S, Take a look here Leica Monochrom and Metz Flash. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Herr Barnack Posted June 20, 2016 Share #2 Posted June 20, 2016 If you are up for wireless flash, I would encourage you to take a look at the Phottix Ares Wireless Flash Trigger set: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00A4BR7KG/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o09_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 There is no physical connection to the camera, so there is no worry about damage to either the camera or flash due to electrical incompatibility. You will have to work with the flash in auto mode rather than TTL, if that will work for your shooting situation. I use the Ares kit and a Nikon SB-25 flash unit with my M240 and have not missed TTL mode. Auto mode works quite well and manual mode is not difficult to catch on to. jaapv Posted June 21, 2016 Share #3 Posted June 21, 2016 There is no electrical incompatibility. The camera is safe to 600 Volts. As I PM'd, an 45CT is a SCA 3000 flash, not an SCA 300 and there is no TTL possible. It is not à very practical flash on an M. It interferes with focusing.
