scott.ball Posted June 16, 2016 Share #1 Â Posted June 16, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) I randomly came across a black 35 Summicron f/2 w/o goggles and in black and appears to be a version1 m2 lens. Â The serial number starts with 213 and I paid under $1,000. I'm new to the M system and happened to pick up a sweetheart of a deal for an M6 a couple weeks ago I was just looking for a 35mm lens when I came across the lens in question. Can someone tell me how rare this lens truly is? My initial research shows it is extremely sought after but it's hard to take older websites seriously. lct Posted June 16, 2016 Share #2  Posted June 16, 2016 Welcome to the forum . All 35/2 # 213xxxx were chrome according to LeicaWiki (http://www.l-camera-forum.com/leica-wiki.en/index.php/Summicron_(I)_f%3D_3.5_cm_1:2) so perhaps your copy has been re-painted or is indeed a rare lens. I would ask on the Leica Collectors forum (http://www.l-camera-forum.com/forum/35-leica-collectors-historica/) to be sure.
