kengai Posted June 6, 2016 Share #1 Posted June 6, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) The Elmarit 28, II type is a good lens to use on the body M-P? Or is it preferable to another version?
Advertisement Posted June 6, 2016 Posted June 6, 2016 Hi kengai, Take a look here about the Elmarit 28. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
@McLeica Posted June 6, 2016 Share #2 Posted June 6, 2016 For the money, I'd just stick with the last 28mm Elmarit-M 11606. Fantastic lens. Small and excellent quality. 39mm filters and not an odd 48mm filter size.
Jon Pop Posted June 6, 2016 Share #3 Posted June 6, 2016 I love my Elmarit 28 Asph. It's so small, and incredibly sharp. I use it on my film MP, my MP240, and M9 - great on all bodies. I don't think I'll be pursuing the newest version that was just announced, I don't feel the need. I've debated the 28mm Summicron but I hear more stories of variability (i.e. it's an absolutely great lens, but some have focus issues, etc.), and in the end don't need the extra speed for the shooting I do. You can probably get a 28 Elmarit Asph for a good price, given the announcement of the latest one and all the GAS inspired people unloading theirs! MaticB Posted June 7, 2016 Share #4 Posted June 7, 2016 As I already said in another topic, elmarit 28 ASPH (now "older" version) is incredible lens! Personally, I 'm impressed every time I use it - with M 240 though! If I sometime will buy brighter wide angle lens, that for sure won't be summilux 28, but summilux 21… Matic
tobey bilek Posted June 8, 2016 Share #5 Posted June 8, 2016 28 2.8 ASPH nice small size. Brilliant lens. I will keep mine forever. The redesigned version works better in the corners on SL, not much better on the M. My prediction says the SL type sensor will migrate to the M to take advantage of economy of scale and allow use of M lenses on mirrorless body. My opinion is they did not redesign it just so SL users would have a better lens. Time will tell.
