It is not useful, the upper knob (molette en haut) is efficient. I don't understand how you have " the function button to cycle through the metering modes" ?? For macro I use focus and shoot with finger on screen.It is easy to change the lens for a landscape, but I have to change focus mode because I want to be looking through the viewfinder.
