Before plastic...

When putting (some) order in my office's drawers, I came across a few boxes containing small objects that had not served for 40 to 60 years. If most of the "objects" went to the waste basket, I couldn't resolve to part from the boxes : they dated from a not-so-distant time - before the advent of mass plastic packaging - when things were presented in nice boxes. Like tea in this finely decorated metal can, aperitive snacks or chocolate "cats' tongues" in these nicely printed cardboard boxes. Fortunately enough, my Leica was ready to preserve. Nostalgy...

Pecole,

Vibrant colors___in this time period the excuse would be "too costly, no extra profit"___

and when  all said and done, the `younger ones' lack the good taste and appreciation

of such things. Cherish such things.

Thanks, CooperH. I fully agree with you, including your judgement on "younger ones" (but what about our own responsibility regarding their "education"?). Now, there seems to be a (slight) movement - parallel to the "bio" one? and maybe following growing health warnings about plastic packaging of food - to re-discover the real value of more "traditional" and "pleasant-to-see-and-touch" packaging. But cost - like for bio products - remains an issue.

Bonjour Pierre,

Merci de partager ces délicieux souvenirs (notamment les langues de chat :) ).

Michel

Et gourmand, avec ça! en plus du Leica, ça fait (au moins...) deux vices.
