What happened is that I cannot open any files (neither JPG or DNG) shot during the 2nd half of today (all on the same memory card). I get the error message that the file format is incorrect, but the files are clearly labelled correctly. I tried the playback on the camera, and the same happens there. Nothing shows from a certain file number onwards. I formatted a new card now and did a couple of shots just out of the window, and they were ok. May 17th is a national holiday in Norway (day of the Constitution) and I was out with my grandson all day. I have plenty of photos shot during the first half of the day. pgk Posted May 17, 2016 Share #6 Posted May 17, 2016 Depending on the card it might just be worth trying some file recovery software - some card manufacturers offer this themselves. I'd back everything up that you can read then try recovery software just in case its possible to extract anything. Then it will be time to bin the card I'm afraid. I've had memory cards and hard drives partially corrupt data. It starts off small. Maybe an occasional read or write error. But it gets progressively worse.
