Just found in my garden. It is small (4 cm), seems too light to be marble (a kind of strong lime-stone?). No idea of the origin of the strange and tiny (3 mm) "perforations".

Coelenterata sp. a colonial coral. The rock is limestone built from corals.

 

Thanks a lot, Dave. I have now to investigate how it came in my garden, 200 meter above and 10 km from the Atlantic coast of Algarve..,.where I never heard talk about corals.
