So you had to wait a moment until the ferris cage stopped rocking? I like the composition/crop. Hope you don't mind I played with it.

Hi Charles, so you know, most photographers would consider it very disrespectful of their art when you take an image of theirs and edit it without their permission.

Hello DezFoto,

I know it is a liberty and that some photographers on a list like this do not want it done. (I happen to think it is great when someone does mine here; taking a photo off Flickr and editing it somewhere else would be different.) As I tried to indicate, I'll certainly edit my post if Michael wishes.

First of all, thanks for the great interaction here. I think this is what makes a community productive and useful.

As for the edits CharlesL, I honestly have mixed feelings. I don't have real strong feelings on this but to be honest my first reaction was not positive in this context. That said, I do appreciate seeing the dialog an inputs in this thread.

IMHO, I will agree with ErnstK and I'm also not a fan of your edit. I don't care for the tonal shift.

And yes, I did have to wait a moment for the rocking of the cage to stop.  It took a few times around to have a moment where it worked.

Thank you all for the interactivity on the thread.

Thank you for your considerate reply, Michael.

You were at the scene, I was not. I offered an alternative, which could in turn probably use more saturation. I like the colors of your post better but could not resist a brighter treatment for a recreational scene.

A celebrant at the Dia de los Muertos event in Oakland, California last Sunday. Direct sun is usually bad for portraits, but she's wearing a mask and her face is evenly illuminated, so there are no unpleasant shadows. The upside of that direct sun is that the colors really pop.
