In the link you provide to your article, there is a link to an article written by Steve Huff about the M Monochrom ( http://www.stevehuffphoto.com/2012/11/02/the-leica-monochrom-review-part-3-my-final-words-and-samples-for-now/ ).  In this article, he says in part

 

"...I have said this before but not everyone will understand it. Those who refuse to even think about spending this kind of money will instantly bash the Mono on that alone. Others will bash it because they want it but can not afford it and others will bash it because they will say their camera is just as good. Others will say “NOTHING will ever match film”, which is 100% true but why would I pay $8000 to match film? I personally feel what comes out of the Monochrom beats film in many ways. The ones who bash this camera are the photographers who do not get it, and therefore not the target market Leica was aiming at when they released the Monochrom..."

While I understand that you did not write the article, I was wondering if you would kindly share your thoughts and observations on Steve's commentary.

Oh thank you for your hind. this is interesting... I can not say anything because i never worked with film. and i can only comment something that i have personal experience with. I just can say that i love the Monochroms and their look more than any other b&w conversion... The files are unique...

 

And we will always have hater. Some of the comments on the article seem to have that intention.. oh this is a photographer who thinks working with expensive lenses and cameras will bring the best results... but i am far away from lifting myself on a level where i am not.... i just love these lenses and camera and work with them. that was my intention and motivation for this article

The pictures are out of focus in this article!

Maybe some but Not all. I edited Them and I wouldnt pick all pictures i Show that are all out of focus. So it is better you define exactly which are Not in focus.

Starting with lamp at window, frame as no point of focus and then frames 3,4,5,6 and 12 are all soft ( out of focus ).

I think this critique is not justified, and techno-oriented.

I do see the plane of focus in those images, but I also suspect some deliberate blurring in post-processing, which is a good thing. This kind of romantic photography does not benefit from an "every-pimple-counts" approach. I think the prints will be  good.

whilst I agree that several of those pictures are not sharp - beauty is in the eye of the beholder - good article and nice images!

I fail to agree with any of your un-educated remarks! If you want to talk 21st century fine art photography look at the work of Dmitry Markov on the British Journal of Photography website and its all shot on an iphone!

Also you could look at the fine art portraiture of Clive Arrowsmith  on the Hasselblad website. Its the real deal, its fab!!
