eawholloway Posted April 11, 2016 Share #1 Posted April 11, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) When checking the status of the battery on my Monochrom 246 I get the following message in red "check battery age". The battery has just been recharged and is showing 100% charge available. Has anyone else experienced this message and does it mean that the battery will start to not hold its charge? BBHewee Posted April 11, 2016 Share #2 Posted April 11, 2016 Nothing to worry about. It's an automatic message on the 240 platform.
pop Posted April 11, 2016 Share #3 Posted April 11, 2016 There's a fairly long thread about that very message here: "Check Battery Age" In a nutshell: That status indicator is triggered by your battery having reached a predefined age, I think two years. There's nothing you can do or have to do. The battery will work just as well as it did two weeks ago. Leica will remove that indicator from the software at their earliest convenience, which may be sooner or later.
Herr Barnack Posted April 18, 2016 Share #4 Posted April 18, 2016 This is why I just ordered another battery for my M-P; this will give me a total of three batteries. At home, I can have a new battery here in a day or two if the need arises, but when traveling it's better to have a couple of extra batteries in case one dies. lanetomlane Posted April 23, 2016 Share #5 Posted April 23, 2016 The same just happened to me last night. Strange thing was it appeared on my 240 and 246 at the same time and yet I know there is at least a difference in age of one year. Both have recharged without problems so I'm not worried.
