That's disgraceful especially for a problem which Leica have acknowledged as a design/production fault.

mine was shipped back to me within one week, so mileage clearly varies. Plus a loaner meanwhile. I'd call that excellent service. Deal directly with the customer service.

THat premiure package costs 4 grand....................frigging ridiculous

The Leica Protection Plan (not separate 'pro' coverage) comes with the camera and includes loaner provision.  The same can be purchased for lenses, and is subject to negotiation.   <_<

It is BS. Is there word on wether it gets fixed with a long term solution? or are the broken bits replaced with the same kind, and going to break again in the same way?

Apparently the old plastic AF motor gets changed out for a Titanium one......my 70 now works a treat. I did ask them if they could upgrade my Non CS lens to a CS lens for my troubles.........but they declined :(

Actually with the V to S adapter your backup is V lens on S007 ... Just use your feet to match angle of view ... Not perspective but close enough.

I'm curious to see if the rumored new Hassie on Weds changes my regard of what the S represents in terms of price vs IQ vs usability. No idea what is coming, we will see.

Re the S lens repair, yes, I've also been informed that plastic gets replaced with metal, which potentially sounds reassuring if that's a long term solution.

This is exciting - Here comes the Hasselblad Mirrorless Medium Format supposedly with the Sony 33x44 sensor from the 50c back. It's announced with a live stream on the 22nd. All eyes on Leica now too.

I'm glad I decided to wait. Here comes the Hasselblad Mirrorless Medium Format supposedly with the Sony 33x44 sensor from the CFV-50c back. It's announced with a live stream on the 22nd. This is exciting.

SH!T................this could potentially screw up my purchase of the S007. I wonder if it will be like the S007 launch and be available June 2017 :( :( :(

If it is using the 50MP 33x44 sensor it could be for immediate release. If it's the 100MP sensor there will certainly be a delay. I'm guessing it's hot to trot and will be ready very soon judging on Hasselblads form lately.

Since Hasselblad is supposedly claiming the camera will feature a "unique aspect ratio", I'm kind of hoping for a 56x56 square (but I suspect it will be Xpan-like). We'll know in a few days.

So buy the S007 now and you can get the new Hasselblad when it's released.

Oh, I forgot, you're getting the 100MPX 'Blad :-)

no premium package in my case. Regular customer service.

Just based on the anecdotal accounts here, it would seem that customer service is somewhat better for EU customers than for those located elsewhere. Of course, the sample size here is extremely small (and self-selected), so that observation might not be statistically valid.

According to the teaser photo in the email Hasselblad sent me today, it seems to have a knob/dial on top ;-). As long as it's actually functional, I think that's a good thing.  I am however, *not* going to be watching the livestream at 6AM my time - I'll wait and read all the spoilers after I've had a sufficient quantity of coffee.

I am really hoping that Leica has a surprise or two up their sleeves for their S series at Photokina. Maybe an S-E Type 007 with no video features? The mythical wide tilt-shift lens? A 350mm telephoto S lens?

A mirrorless Type 008? My crystal ball only shows me the Eye of Sauron these days.  :D
