Depends who sells the item. If you purchase from an individual the warranty is not transferrable in the US. Might be different elsewhere. There is a Leica warranty on demo lenses and cameras purchased from a Leica dealer. When buying person to person, be sure of the condition of what you are buying. If you do not know the warning signs to look out for, have a more experienced Leica user or a Leica repair person check out the piece of kit that you are thinking of buying. Ask the seller to agree to a full refund contingent on inspection of the item. If they refuse, ask why and take that as a possible or probable red flag.
