david strachan Posted March 16, 2016 Share #3 Posted March 16, 2016 Love the "Red Bomber" above. It's hard getting good bird shots..well done. cheers Dave S PS Stuart...are you still using the V Lux?
stuny Posted March 16, 2016 Author Share #4 Posted March 16, 2016 Dave - Thank you, and yes my V Lux 114, the only camera I've used for the last 15 months.
Northwest Wanderer Posted March 17, 2016 Share #5 Posted March 17, 2016 Stuart, You have been getting some very good images with the V Lux 114. I enjoy that camera and like you I use it exclusively. My other cameras just sit on the shelf.
war Posted March 17, 2016 Share #6 Posted March 17, 2016 These are terrific shots, particularly that Vermilion Flycatcher in flight. The 114 must have lightning fast autofocus. I think the last image is either a Green-Barred or a Spot-Breasted Woodpecker, probably the latter.
Hunebed Posted March 17, 2016 Share #7 Posted March 17, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) Frirst: saffron finches. The second is some kind of thrush. The third looks like greenfinch, but the feathers and the beak on the wings do not match. Lovely bird. Redbomber = vermilion flycatcher. Last is spot-breasted woodpecker. The others show canary's. now please stop it. Leica store did not offer very much for the v-lux 4 i wanted to trade.
david strachan Posted March 17, 2016 Share #8 Posted March 17, 2016 Hi Hunebed Yes, I got the V Lux 4...just before it's modern brother came out...the V Lux 114... I'm disappointed with the very small sensor, but the long lens is pretty good. I know Stuart worked with the V Lux 4 for a couple of years before he got the 114. Just disappointed, that's all. My fault, had no idea and would have certainly got the larger sensor V Lux. cheers Dave S
