I haven't used it in this way, but have used it via my home wifi. I would suggest first, that you make sure you have updated your camera firmware to the latest version because the original firmware wasn't stable, and the Leica app was also updated. At home you can use your own wifi network (and the Q will remember your credentials), and if lost in the middle of nowhere (or just in a street ;-) the Q can generate its own wifi network, showing you its name and pass on the viewfinder, along with a visual QR code you can alternately aim to with the phone or tablet to directly come in. In the first case the wifi quality will be the one from your network; in the second I found no trouble with the Q and phone/tablet within visual reach in the same room, and didn't test farther. No DNG are downloadable through wifi, only jpegs. Other than that, you really can command many things from the phone, almost every setting I tried, with full live view. I'd say it's full tethering without a wire, and without raw files (which would require really many time to download via wifi, indeed)... Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
michi_rishi Posted March 15, 2016 Share #4 Posted March 15, 2016 I love this function to upload photos to my iPhone. Make sure you connect it with the function 'remote control'. When you next select 'play' you can browse through the photos on the camera. Works not really fast, but it is a pleasure to upload a few pics a time.
