Thanks, I appreciate the comments, S55 - it's good to be nudged to think more closely about what I (or any of us!) want to convey in a photograph.

It's what I appreciate about these threads, knowing that everyone - however, skilled - is after the same thing - improving our eye to the composition, how to use our cameras to best present what in the world interests each one of us, and capturing the ah-ha moment - so its a pleasure to see the perspective of others, and how different an eye we have.

See below: can you tell me which one you prefer of the last two pictures that I posted? (This is a reasonably well-known rice and curry restaurant in the center of Chiang Mai. Really good frogs legs, and very hot.)

The "white giant" seen at the  GDT Internationales NaturfotoFestival Lünen  (page in english) where i also tested the 90mm SL Summicron (thanks to O. Wolf from the Leica Support, it is a great lens!)
