m9photo Posted February 26, 2016 Share #1 Posted February 26, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) Just curious, how they compare between the Q lens and the M lenses (summilux/summicron/summarit), sharpness/IQ/bokeh, etc.

Jeff S Posted February 26, 2016 Share #2 Posted February 26, 2016 http://www.l-camera-forum.com/topic/247187-q-vs-summicron-asph-on-m240/ http://www.l-camera-forum.com/topic/246312-q-28mm-lens-design/ FWIW, there is no 28 Summarit....that would be the Elmarit.....there are numerous threads comparing it to the Summicron. algrove Posted February 27, 2016 Share #3 Posted February 27, 2016 It performs just fine so much so that I often leave the M at home. "Quba": Cuba with the Leica Q by Louis Foubare - Leica Forum Blog

Jeff Yup, the only lens I've ever sold that I regretted, and then bought it again. It's a gem.
EdwardM Posted March 2, 2016 Share #7 Posted March 2, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) 28 Lux + m240 beats Q all the way bokeh frist of all. i do have M and Q. I prefer M+28 Lux fro landsacape shooting and Q for low light and street photography. The 28 Lux reminds me 35 lux fle in terms of rendering and 3D feeling. Q is great gear but i cant achive this 3D pictures with Q. maybe i m bad user, who knows.
viramati Posted March 2, 2016 Share #8 Posted March 2, 2016 Well I no longer have my M and Summicron 28 ASPH but it used to be my most used lens and I would say that the Q has the edge when it comes to corner/edge sharpness even when stopped down. I just love the way the Q renders at 1.
