roelandinho Posted February 18, 2016 Share #1 Posted February 18, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) A little less than two months ago my Leica M8 shutter suddenly got stuck. The shutter blades were bent and damaged. I sent the camera straight to Wetzlar for repair. The repair was going to cost me €645 (only labor costs, as a good will they didn’t charge for spare parts). After a week I get a message from Customer Service informing me that the repair will take longer than expected due to a missing part. This was about a month ago. Just now I received another message that instead of repairing my M8 they are offering me a refurbished M9, with the new corrosion-free sensor already installed for just €845! Did they run out of M8 shutters? I am Thrilled.

earleygallery Posted February 18, 2016 Share #2 Posted February 18, 2016 Maybe someone dropped your M8 and they smashed the screen Great offer whatever the actual reason.
roelandinho Posted February 18, 2016 Author Share #3 Posted February 18, 2016 Lucky me :-) No, actually it's a bit double feeling because I was kind of attached to this M8. But then I am also excited about the M9. Now I will be spoiled with high ISO capabilities for sure ;-)
