bonjac Posted February 15, 2016 Share #1 Posted February 15, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) By connecting an in-lens stabilized lens to an M, with an adapter, will the stabilization still work? I know it's a bit of a strange question, but I have a reason for asking. Thanks, Jack
Advertisement Posted February 15, 2016 Posted February 15, 2016 Hi bonjac, Take a look here Leica M with Stabilized Zoom Lens. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
lucerne Posted February 15, 2016 Share #2 Posted February 15, 2016 I doubt it. AFAIK Lenses with stabilisers contain powered gyroscopic systems, and there is no way the Leica can provide the power to the lens. Unless - of course - the gyros are self powered and I'm talking rubbish. Someone will be along soon to comment I'm sure!
ayewing Posted February 15, 2016 Share #3 Posted February 15, 2016 I cannot see how it would work. There are no electrical contacts in a M mount so where would the stabilising system get its power frm?
ayewing Posted February 15, 2016 Share #4 Posted February 15, 2016 I seem to have duplicated lucerne's post. He pipped me to the post.

Schrödinger's cat Posted February 16, 2016 Share #6 Posted February 16, 2016 Not only would the lens need power from somewhere, it would need a signal from the camera to turn itself on. With no electrical connection between camera and lens there's no provision for those things happening.
