biginovero Posted January 22, 2016 Share #1 Posted January 22, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) hallo everybody, first post, hope to be ok with rules. I have had for several years an M2 that i acquired from a tribunal auction, it was from an old deceased woman who had never used it as it appeared new. There was just some haze in the viewfinder that disappeared after some days in daylight. Since then the vf has been appearing ever cristal clear. The lens (a chrome summicron f2) is still in pristine condition, glass is cristal clear as well. However, if i keep it stored for some long period in the dark, on the body alone I see some small spots appearing, as you can see from the attached pic. It happened to me in the past and they went away after leaving the camera in daylight for some time. i'm quite puzzled and i'm wondering if this is a serious issue that needs some cleaning from a specialized lab or some easier intervention on my part. other lenses stored in the same bag are unaffected as well. ty for any answer

250swb Posted January 26, 2016 Share #4 Posted January 26, 2016 Fungus hates daylight, UV light kills fungus. So don't store it in old leather cases in dark or damp conditions.
