It has a cf port so I use an sd to cf adapter. I loaded Lightroom on it and use it for downloading and viewing the images. I did not buy it for this task but to use as a backup system when I am traveling so the photo stuff is just a benifit. It is a pricey option though. Not much bigger than my Epson.
