Yes, I know what you tell me, my students I teach them not to copy the styles of other photographers, each must "sign" his works.

Regards.

Steve Ricoh: I teach some people to do street photography and get good shots, I teach how to act with people and not afraid to shoot between people and pointing at their faces from 1 meter, but there is a problem, I do it in person and in Madrid.

I have a big problem, my English is very poor and I have to translate with google, sorry.

I am not sure that I a big fan of the blurred effect.  It is art, for sure, and interesting.  But it doesn't speak to me.  But I am sure that it speaks to others and I would encourage it if it works for you.

With regard to general "street photography" with flash, as with anything in life there is always something or someone who is "upping" the game.

Check out this guy from (I think) the UK, Gareth Bragdon...

Not an avid Leica user, but a very cool photographer nonetheless.  I don't think I've seen anything quite like it on the same level of consistency, including from Mr Gilden...

Steve Ricoh and others friends, I would love to offer a workshop to friends so far, which are also free forever, but my problem is my poor English, if you speak Spanish I'm happy to do without that problem.

True my friend gwpics, I'm finishing a series of this work and then do something else, you can see my flickr and realize what we mostly do, thanks for the advice.

Regards to all.

Great images for sure, but the technique could be in danger of being overused if you are not careful.

Gerry

As I said earlier...I like the look....but I agree with Gerry that 'one technique' can be overused. Now, not to say you have for you are showing your creativity here but I can see using this type of technique from time to time to highlight certain images over others. For instance, I like numbers 1,2 and 5....while some of the others don't quite have the same 'visual narrative' as images 1 ,2 and 5 have.

But if nothing else, this thread shows us the creativity that can be had, and should be strived for by all....I am part of one photo club that is 'boring, boring...' ...THIS is the way it should be as opposed to I am part of a second photo club that encourages for creativity in the taking of photos and the processing of.

I also like your images for they represent true street photography images. Many people are afraid to get close or they take photos of the obvious situation with no visual narrative to  be told within the image, or they take photos from behind the person, or their photos are just street images minus any people.  But I also realize that is my opinion of what good street photography is ('you can smell the street by looking at the photo'---Bruce Gilden). jim
