fotografr Posted December 28, 2015 Share #1  Posted December 28, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) This Cooper's Hawk posted up in our back garden this morning to wait for her lunch to come along. She didn't have to wait long. Right after I shot this a Sparrow flew into range and it was all over in a few seconds. D114 Welcome, dear visitor! Hunebed Posted December 28, 2015 Share #3 Â Posted December 28, 2015 Just beautiful. Wanted to ask with your other shot of the falcon: did you photograph it through a windowpain?
fotografr Posted December 28, 2015 Author Share #4 Â Posted December 28, 2015 Thank you, Ece and Hunnebed. This shot and the last one were done from the outside. The reason for the odd appearance is that I was using digital zoom. I'm not fond of the look, but it's better than not getting the shot.

fotografr Posted December 29, 2015 Author Share #8 Â Posted December 29, 2015 Iduna, Stuart and Bill--thanks very much. When I watched this hawk go after a sparrow, I was amazed at her speed and maneuverability. The little sparrow swooped, cut and dove but the hawk stayed right with it and had it firmly in her talons in fewer than five seconds.
