Deliberate1 Posted December 27, 2015 Share #1 Posted December 27, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) Friends, I inherited a vintage table top tripod from a dear uncle. I was interested to read that some use this device as a brace against the chest to stabilize the camera. To make the connection between camera and tripod I need a clamp. The RRS clamp I use on my full size tripod is secured to the ball head by a hex fitting. But that is incompatible with the top of the tripod head that has a protruding screw which secures it to the camera. With an RRS plate at the bottom of my S, it is not possible to access the threads. It would be most inconvenient to have to remove the camera plate every time I want to screw in the small legs. The solution would be an RSS compatible plate that screws atop the bull head. But I have found none on the RSS site. They all affix with the hex screw. Any suggestions for alternatives? Thanks. David

Deliberate1 Posted December 28, 2015 Author Share #3 Posted December 28, 2015 John, thanks for yours. That is a very nice piece but what I need is a plate not a head. David

Deliberate1 Posted December 28, 2015 Author Share #5 Posted December 28, 2015 John That looks perfect. I missed that one. I prefer the plates with a clamp and will see if they offer such a version. Thanks again. David
Bill W Posted December 28, 2015 Share #6 Posted December 28, 2015 You might try this plate. I use it for my S007 and a Nikon D600. It is the ReallyRightStuff BP-CS plate. Welcome, dear visitor! Deliberate1 Posted December 29, 2015 Author Share #7 Posted December 29, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) Bill, and others, I am afraid that my conflation of plates and clamps has confused those of you trying to help me out. John figured it out. I have a plate on the S - one I got for an old Nikon D70 that works just fine with the RRS ball head atop a Gitzo. What I need is the clamp that connects to the Leica table top tripod via a screw. John has hit the mark with the RRS B2-FABN. It would be perfect if not for my preference for quick release vs screw clamp. Apologies for the misdirection, David
