earleygallery Posted December 23, 2015 Share #21 Posted December 23, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) The rebadged Sonys were a product of a misguided and long gone CEO. Hasselblad has moved on and is offering now what many professional photographers consider to be the finest medium format camera on the market. Perhaps there are a few camera pundits here who also need to move on? Maybe the CEO is long gone, but they are persisting in selling gaudy pimped up Sony's. Advertisement Posted December 23, 2015 Posted December 23, 2015 Hi earleygallery, Take a look here Hasselblad reduces prices of HD5-50C by 40% - feeling the heat from the SL. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
IkarusJohn Posted December 23, 2015 Share #22 Posted December 23, 2015 The rebadged Sonys were a product of a misguided and long gone CEO. Hasselblad has moved on and is offering now what many professional photographers consider to be the finest medium format camera on the market. Perhaps there are a few camera pundits here who also need to move on? I hope that's right, Keith - the Stellar, Lunar and HV still seem to be for sale over at B&H. Maybe they thought the Panaleicas were a good idea, but the Hasselblad name was worth more? I'll move on when this rubbish is no longer offered. I have no idea about the digital Hasselblads- if I was in that market, I'd be looking at all options, including PhaseOne, Leica, Pentax etc. What would worry me though is digital does seem to need support from the manufacturer. As good as the HD5-50c might be, it's still a $30,000 camera. I'd like to be sure Hasselblad is still about to fix it for me ...
keithlaban.co.uk Posted December 24, 2015 Share #23 Posted December 24, 2015 Hopefully Hasselblad are still selling those over-priced pimped up Sonys, selling being the operative word; it'll clear them from the shelves and put more money in their pockets for the R&D of the stuff they do best. I've never had anything but superb service from Hasselblad including home visits. I've no reason to believe that Hasselblad is at risk but if others here have more inside information than me then I bow to their greater knowledge.
