camera Freeze

Reviving this old thread...any updates on this? I just was out with my T and 18-56 and over ~40 shots I had three freezes that necessitated pulling the battery. Latest firmware, and Visoflex.

When it freezes, does the Visoflex stay permanently on even when you take your eye away from it?   And will the screens still refresh as you point the lens in different places, or are they frozen on the last frame shot?

It's frozen displaying the last shot, red LED flashing. Nothing else works.

Huh.  That's a little different than what I had to contend with, so I'm not sure what to tell you.  Mine would similarly freeze and become inoperational, but the visoflex or live view on the rear screen would still refresh.

My ordeal with this led to the camera making two trips to the Leica repair center in New Jersey and ultimately resulted in a replacement of the camera body.  The Visoflex and M-Adapter-T were not found to be the culprits, and everything has worked brilliantly since I've had the new body.  Here's hoping you don't have to deal with that, or if you do, you end up getting a replacement.  It might be worth trying to figure out if your serial number indicates an earlier model that might be more prone to this issue, but I have no idea what the cut off would be or how widespread or acknowledged the problem is.

Thanks for your help. I've had the issue intermittently, but nothing like the other day. I'll try and see if I can isolate the conditions first and figure out what seems to be the source. A trip to Leica may be the ultimate solution though.

Do you have several memory cards and do you have this problem with all of them?

I have 2 cards and my camera freezes from time to time only with one of them!... I don't pay too much attention to that, to be honest with you.
