Has any one found a shop that has stock of spare batteries for the SL?

Ffordes in the UK did have some, as I got one from them but I as posted that info on here, they may well have now all gone. Another probable candidate is Park Cameras in London.

I received a response this morning to the query I'd sent to Adorama on Tuesday, they said they were expecting them in the next week or two. Probably what B&H is expecting.

Then I had a thought and sent a note to Tony and Alex at Popflash.com. Tony responded immediately that he had them in stock and available, so I ordered one from him. I don't know how many he has.

This is good. I hate having just one battery for a digital camera, usually want at least one spare. I'll get the one from Tony either Monday or Tuesday, and then the other from B&H when they get them in. Three batteries is my usual full complement, so I'm set.

Has anyone who has visited either Wetzlar or a Leica Boutique recently, got any more definite information on the timescale for release of the 90-280SL. I have seen various estimates from "early in the new year, through late in 1st quarter to end of 2nd quarter. It is just I am going to sell my 80-200/f4 Vario Elmar-R and I might get a better price before Xmas or the 90-280 is released. However if it is going to be in the second quarter, I would keep my 80-200 to use on the SL during my trip to Myanmar in March. I think I am #1 in the queue for this lens at Ffordes.

Just got the remote release ....... surprising amount of cash for a cheap bit of plastic and a wire ..... oh well, that's the Leica Experience, I suppose. At least I can now take images with an unlimited exposure time .... which is a first for recent Leica digital cameras ...... not sure if I can cope with 10minutes of NR exposure after though ..... if that's what it does ......

I was thinking of getting one of these when I am at Leica on the 9th. Just wondering if I can carry on using the self timer as I have been up to now. I rarely take super long exposures.

Does the IOS app allow you to do long exposures and multiple runs like a Cam Ranger?

You can do long exposures but not time lapse if that is what you meant by multiple runs. You can set the camera to any of the available drive modes single; slow continuous; fast continuous etc.

... Maybe that means my remote release and battery from B&H Photo will ship soon...

Just checked: They've gotten stock on the battery, my order for that is now sent to the warehouse and will ship tomorrow. No remote cords yet.

One piece at a time. The other battery I ordered (from Popflash) is taking its leisurely time getting here, but should be delivered tomorrow. No fault of theirs; USPS is overloaded right now.

No shipment from B&H yet; the battery there is noted as in stock with order sent to warehouse, remote release still on order.

The spare battery I ordered from Popflash has arrived (USPS must be overloaded with holiday packages—it took a week and a half from order to delivery, where it usually takes two days from SoCal to me. Now I feel relieved ... with a spare battery in the bag, I can go on my walks and really run the camera out to the end of the power to learn how many shots on a charge I can get.

This reminds me: I haven't seen a picture of the "LEICA AUDIO ADAPTER AA-SCL4 (16067)" yet. No one has it available to order yet. I'm curious as to how it connects ... via the hot shoe adapter or through the port on the left side..??
