Whops. Time to take the 35 FLE off the 2nd hand market. I was trying to sell it used for more than the current new price (29990NOK - down from 43000NOK - 30% price decrease over night - WTF?). I see that Bresson.no (the Norwegian Leica distributor) has 12 black Leica M-P's in stock... I guess they're desperately trying to get rid of them... And even after the price decrease they'll probably have a really hard time to sell them, as the market is completely stand-still. Mint 2nd hand M240's are now going for 32000NOK (!), about $3670 USD. I can't see any M240 on eBay for such a low price even...

Or you can order online:

The Lux 50 is NOK 19 199 tax free or € 2 327.

Much stranger to me is that - on the same site - M-P silver costs NKK 68990,-  and M-P black is listed for NKK 54999,- ?!?! M-P for under 6000 €?  And it is not bundled to any lens.

A huge difference = € 1500,-  compared to silver model???

Normally they cost the same...

9 months ago I bought a brand new M-P 240 in silver for GBP 3600. That is way under EUR 6000 (in fact just over EUR 5000). I checked out the serial number with a Leica dealer to make sure it was genuine and it was confirmed as OK.

That's completely insane price - never seen anything like that in Europe!

But that doesn't mean those prices from our Norwegian friends are not worth mentioning... specially that difference between M-P in silver vs. black. :o

One more thing:  they sell 50 Lux for only 450 € more than 50 Summicron??!! :o :o :o

They seem to be gone completely mad

I guess the difference is that these prices are retail prices available for everyone - for brand new products - without even trying to get a good deal, or without knowing anyone, or getting lucky, or having contacts, etc, etc.

Something is out of whack here. Prices for used 50 APO Cron's are in the $5K range.   I can't fathom why the Norway dealer would discount brand new ones all the way down to US$2500.  Hell they could get more for it on an insurance claim if it was stolen or dropped.

It's around 7600$ including tax. Where did you see 2500$?

Oh it's the Summilux not the APO Cron.  Since Forumrunner quit working this forum is really hard for me to see on my phone.   The Lux is $3515 @ B&H, says that includes a 12% discount.  Still don't see why the Norway dealer would sell it for $2500, which is at or less than what used early non-6bit-coded one's go for.  The only time I ever saw a dealer sell off Leica stock at or below their cost was when a store decided to stop carrying Leica product.

I just recently picked up my used 50AA at B&H.  It was rated a 9.5, showed no wear on the mounting ring with almost no sign of use at all.  The only thing that was missing from it being 100% complete was the lens instruction manual and top foam insert that goes in the box.  I paid just over $6k for what is essentially a brand new lens.  It's hard to compare used gear, price has a lot to do with many factors; lens condition and box/paper completeness.  I'd say $6k is about the going rate for a new to like new 50 AA in the NYC area; if you can find one used in that condition.

It's good to see the prices on this gear stay low long enough for some of the less financially flush but much more talented photographers consider getting into Leica M. That 12% discount that was supposed to expire in May seems like it might stay the new normal for awhile.

One heads up though, the tax free only applies outside of Scandinavia (so unfortunately swedes, danes and finnish people cannot get the tax back) for the rest of you only click in:

Include Global Blue Tax Free form:

And the price will be 20% less! Quite a bargain!

Those 12 % was only in US. In Europe we never experienced it...
