Msohio Posted November 11, 2015 Share #3 Posted November 11, 2015 But who would steal a little O brand camera. A little Q, whole different world. That's why I have gaffer's tape over my red dot as well. I think it is sort of a sneaky good idea.
Msohio Posted November 11, 2015 Share #4 Posted November 11, 2015 In fact I just bought one on Amazon. Has a holder strap if it is desirable to your shooting style. $40.

sblitz Posted November 26, 2018 Share #8 Posted November 26, 2018 I put a UV filter on the lens, screwed the lens shade on and put the lens cap someplace in some drawer where it is lost forever ..... no need for the lens cap and the filter (don't skimp!!!!) made no difference to the output ...

Don't you know there's a rule that you can't discuss lens caps until you've posted at least 10 great photos? Let's see some terrific photos from your Q!
Viv Posted November 26, 2018 Share #10 Posted November 26, 2018 I dislike the Leica Q lens cover. A UV filter does the job for me 1
Afairall Posted December 6, 2018 Share #11 Posted December 6, 2018 A use a BW Clear filter + OP/TECH USA Hood Hat - Mini (Black) over the lens hood -- it's a great combo.
robgo2 Posted December 8, 2018 Share #12 Posted December 8, 2018 I keep the lens hood permanently mounted on my Q. The only problem I had with the OEM cap is that it fits loosely and is prone to falling off. The solution that I found was to place two short pieces of gaffers tape on opposite sides of the inside surface of the cap's rim. This creates a nice snug fit. Unless one is highly averse to having logos displayed, I can see no reason to use any other cap substitute.
