bideford Posted November 9, 2015 Share #1 Posted November 9, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) Looking for a 40mm UV-IR filter for Canon 50mm f/1.8 and 35mm f/2 lenses (I know I could use step up rings to get to a larger diameter but would prefer not to). There are a couple of £20 options on the bay sold for Fuji X10 (I do not think I am allowed to put the link up here - but they are easily found) - one of them is branded as a Rocolax. Anyone any views - should they work ok? - notwithstanding the usual lens is only as good as your last glass etc.. Will use the M8/Canon mainly for B&W (without UV-IR) but this would give an easy colour option when required. James

david strachan Posted November 9, 2015 Share #3 Posted November 9, 2015 I use a Rocolax UV-IR on my Canon 35mm f2 which has a 40mm filter thread. Works fine. And the threads take a lens hood as well. Take them off at night, not needed anyway, because they cause some pretty wild flare spots. cheers Dave S
