In B/W, you can see the different levels in the photo, and in the building right behind the bus, the lights of the top floor and the tower really add so much!... Adam...one thing I've started to *see* as I've shot more with my M is that I need a lot of color for me to stay with color. Ask yourself if the capture requires color or if color provides value. Sometimes there's just not enough color to add value. I personally enjoy the B&W version more; the sharp lit building against the blurred motion of the bus looks cool. I also feel the B&W tonal differences produce greater visual effect relative to the color version ....another thing you may what to look at when deciding. Nice capture! It is sometimes a tough call for me though. To be honest I liked the yellow gold of Carnegie. But I think you are right, you got to ask yourself what value is color bringing into the pic. In this case not much, just my sentimental memory of the place. That is why I shoot DNG +B&W jpg so as to quickly compare both color & BW in Lightroom. It is true also that after using the M there are times when I fantasize about getting a Mono as my second system. Something, I would not consider before having the M. Something, I would not consider before having the M. I agree 100%....very hard to resist. If my B&W trend continues, I may have to invest , although I'm quite pleased with my short term results thus far. I've read that in the lower ISO range the M240 is pretty comparable to the M246 and would be hard to justify the expense unless you are generating revenue or have enough where it does not matter. I've also read they complement each other nicely as backups given they use the same glass/battery/accessories..etc. Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

Well that is precisely why I liked the color image in the first place. If this sounds contradictory, that is because there are images where it is hard for me to choose. Not being familiar with this building, I had no idea about the "golden" parts and thought it was the lighting!
