Would you prefer an R10 over SL?

We will never ever have a smart adapter for R lenses, too complicated for a small market.

I suspect Leica has pretty accurate records of the numbers of ROM R lenses, both new and retrofitted. They're going to the effort of producing an adapter, I hope you're wrong about it having a reader for the ROM.

I do do agree the aperture stop down is unlikely.

Leica would never do that. For the simple reason that they cannot service R lenses fully any more, nor do they have the tooling to produce new ones or new spare parts.

One cannot sell a body and be unable to produce or give service on the lenses.

Im not sure what you mean by fully service Jaap. I have an R lens in Wetzlar for CLA and they have said they can replace lens elements if needed.

Not I Dunk

I sold mine when I was disappointed with it's performance on the M240. . . . The WATE on the other hand is a cracker on the SL :)

Oh, Jono, you might have cost me $$ here...

I use the WATE @ 16mm f/4.8, mostly. So, are you saying from your experience that the WATE is nearly as good (or even essentially equal considering near-open aperture usage) on SL as the M240? I am not corner pixel peaking here, just asking, one 28 Summilux fan to another, if you are very well satisfied with WATE on SL?

I find that the RF precision in focusing for the WATE is quite superior to the EVF2, but I have never seen or used the SL, of course.

Thx Jono.
