andybarton Posted May 27, 2007 Share #1 Posted May 27, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Borrowed from my Dad. The last time it was used was 15 years ago, when I took it on a family holiday to Brittany. It still has my roll of my 1992 Ektachrome in the back... So, two questions. 1. Why has my Dad not sold this bit if redundant kit? And why didn't I have the Ektachrome developed...? 2. What will Pan F be like when run through it? 3. How about Reala, scanned on a Pro machine? OK, that's 3 1/2 questions. I borrowed this to make a triptych in the dining room, when we go to Scotland in a couple of weeks. 3 squares at max quality is what I am after. stunsworth Posted May 27, 2007 Share #3 Posted May 27, 2007 1. Because he didn't have to. 2. Excellent. 3. Not as good as 2. I keep meaning to use my Rolleiflex and RB67, the problem is they're just not as convenient as those newfangled cameras <grin>
Sandokan Posted May 29, 2007 Share #4 Posted May 29, 2007 Enjoy Scotland and I look forward to the results on your web site from the Bronica - you can think about replacing your scanner with one that does medium format ... Interesting to see what colour your Ektachrome comes out - Fujichrome 10 year old came with a green cast. and 10 year old colour print film did not come out at all. earleygallery Posted May 29, 2007 Share #5 Posted May 29, 2007 Hi Andy, Which Bronny is it? I have an ETRS which I've used for numerous weddings, portraits, christenings (but no Bar Mitzvah's). I have thought of selling mine but its paid for itself over the years and what I'd get for it now is hardly worth it. The quality is superb, but the shutter in the lens started playing up. I'm actually thinking of picking up a new lens for it instead for some shots I have in mind.......
larry Posted May 29, 2007 Share #6 Posted May 29, 2007 Andy, I had a 20-year-old ETRS system that I traded when I bought my M7 about three years ago. The ETRS was superb and my understanding is the SQ was even better. It may be heresy to say this, but the ETRS was quite noticeably better than the Hassleblad it replaced. cocker Posted May 29, 2007 Share #7 Posted May 29, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Andy, MF film must be contagious. I've just got a Rolleiflex to play with. Like James I had an ETRS and traded it in for my first digital camera (a Fuji). I'm still scanning those boxes of negatives. Hope you enjoy the Bronica and look forward to seeing some Islay scenes. Hap a good trip
