mjh Posted October 25, 2015 Share #24 Posted October 25, 2015 Another question. Where is this place? Looks like a Leica store, but I thought the release date is Nov 16. This looks like the camera is stocked and ready to sell. This is the Leica Store in Wetzlar where a couple of SL bodies with both zooms where available to touch and try. cpclee Posted October 25, 2015 Share #25 Posted October 25, 2015 looks that way to me too. i'd imagine the focus peaking works very well with 50mm or longer on the SL. The question is whether fast focusing of 28mm or wider is easy. Was not the case for me with the M240 but better with the Q. With this picture are you saying that the SL does not work well with your 50? It seems very out of focus, or is it my monitor?

Is it possible to order the camera in Wetzlar directly, when the camera is available? I want to visit the new factory with my wife in December, if it's open for public before December 12th. If Sinar is present there, I am in a shopping mode for Sinar as well. Thanks. Yevgeny
Rick Posted October 25, 2015 Share #27 Posted October 25, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) People, enough talking. Let's see the images. Here are the first images, tagged with the appropriate lens used First 3 shot with the Leica SL + Leica 24-90/f2.8-4 1 wide angle shot, 1 standard 50mm-ish and 1 90mm-ish to see how it works as a portrait lens These were imported into LR and exported as .jpg to upload to the internet. No editing/tweaking done I have to honestly say, these are terrible. Rick
mjh Posted October 25, 2015 Share #28 Posted October 25, 2015 Michael , Don't want to use my Russian dealer. Is it possible to order the camera in Wetzlar directly, when the camera is available? I’m not sure there is a short cut or whether some dealers will receive their shipments prior to others, but shopping around my still be worth a try. Right now the SL units at the Leica Store Wetzlar are not for sale but I could watch SLs being boxed: Welcome, dear visitor! Talking of strap lugs new SL lug design is in different league to M cameras.
otto.f Posted October 26, 2015 Share #34 Posted October 26, 2015 what is impressive about these???? Sorry? This is just valuable information, why would it be impressive! Quite a nasty remark to someone who spends time to inform us, sorry. you could have given your explanation, that you now gave later, rightaway
Chuck Albertson Posted October 26, 2015 Share #35 Posted October 26, 2015 fair enough. I personally could see the utility in having access to a full res unprocessed raw file so that I could play with it and see what it could do. But the utility of a low res version of such a file doesn't strike me as useful. You might take a look at the DNG files Leica posted for the SL on its Downloads page (from the Singapore Grand Prix a few weeks ago). I imported one into Lightroom and it had some post-processing, but nothing to prevent doing your own adjustments.
A miller Posted October 26, 2015 Share #36 Posted October 26, 2015 Sorry? This is just valuable information, why would it be impressive! Quite a nasty remark to someone who spends time to inform us, sorry sorry, Otto, but you totally misinterpreted my remark. I was being very sincere. And my subsequent comments (including my praise of the OP for taking the time to post these images) in this thread support this. Please read a little further down in the thread and I hope it will become clear to you. Best regards, Adam
