jz_dragon Posted September 28, 2015 Share #1 Posted September 28, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) Greetings, I wonder if anyone out there using a X 113 can tell me; does it have a depth of field preview ability, and secondly, does it have a depth of field electronics scale? Advertisement Posted September 28, 2015 Posted September 28, 2015 Hi jz_dragon, Take a look here Depth of Field Leica X 113. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
asiafish Posted September 28, 2015 Share #2 Posted September 28, 2015 No electronic scale. Pressing the shutter release halfway previews actual exposure, and by extension depth of field.
jz_dragon Posted September 28, 2015 Author Share #3 Posted September 28, 2015 Perfect, thanks. Presumably the aperture and speed are in 1/3 increments?
asiafish Posted September 29, 2015 Share #4 Posted September 29, 2015 Perfect, thanks. Presumably the aperture and speed are in 1/3 increments? Aperture in 1/3 stop increments, shutter speeds in 1/2 stops if I recall (I always shoot aperture priority).
jz_dragon Posted September 29, 2015 Author Share #5 Posted September 29, 2015 Thanks. Me too re aperture priority, except when doing stills I really like the DOF preview functionality. Anyway, food for thought, I'm thinking of trading an X100T for the X 113.
asiafish Posted September 29, 2015 Share #6 Posted September 29, 2015 Thanks. Me too re aperture priority, except when doing stills I really like the DOF preview functionality. Anyway, food for thought, I'm thinking of trading an X100T for the X 113. Just checked, X113 has only full stops on the shutter speed dial. I rarely use the shutter speed dial, unless after a specific effect, so lack of intermediate settings was never an issue for me. In aperture priority it is of course stepless. I haven't used the Fuji out in the real world, but I have tried them at dealers many times and they just never quite felt right. The X113 really works well for me, with the lack of a built-in viewfinder my only complaint, but one that I solve by just leaving the EVF on pretty much all the time. jz_dragon Posted September 29, 2015 Author Share #7 Posted September 29, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) Yes, sounds like a plan. The Fuji is 'ok',,, but it's nothing like the experience of shooting a Leica, at least from an M perspective. Still it's a sweet camera.
