Olsen Posted September 26, 2015 Share #1 Posted September 26, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) It seems to me that many of the pictures I view on this site isn't centered in the middle of the page. Some, particularly pictures that was layed out here before this new web page program now being used, seem to be cropped on the right side with a few cm. How come? Advertisement Posted September 26, 2015 Posted September 26, 2015 Hi Olsen, Take a look here Centering of pictures. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
stuny Posted September 26, 2015 Share #2 Posted September 26, 2015 I've moved this to the "About the Leica Forum" section, where you're more likely to get a reply. The section where you originally posted it is just for photos and comments on them. I used to be able to center photos on the old forum, but I do not know how to do that now. farnz Posted September 26, 2015 Share #3 Posted September 26, 2015 I used to be able to center photos on the old forum, but I do not know how to do that now. When you post a picture use the "More Reply Options" button at the bottom left and you'll find a small symbol (2nd from the right on the lower tool bar in the Reply box) that is 6 short and long interleaved horizontal lines. Click this symbol to centre pictures or text in your reply. Pete.
euston Posted September 27, 2015 Share #4 Posted September 27, 2015 I used to be able to center photos on the old forum, but I do not know how to do that now. Another way to do it is to give your picture a background. In the More Reply Options press the Special BB Code button (third from the left on the top tier of buttons) and, having selected the link to your photo, choose one of the background options. This has the effect of centring the picture as well as making sure that your picture is viewed against a background colour of your choice.
andybarton Posted September 27, 2015 Share #5 Posted September 27, 2015 You do need to highlight the text of the attached file before clicking the center button though. andybarton Posted September 27, 2015 Share #6 Posted September 27, 2015 This will make the photo sit in the centre of anyone's screen, provided it is wide enough to take the max forum image size, although the forum software will scale down the image size for smaller screens. farnz Posted September 27, 2015 Share #7 Posted September 27, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) You do need to highlight the text of the attached file before clicking the center button though. Andy, (In Safari) clicking anywhere in the line centres the text or picture without needing to highlight. I haven't tried it with IE, Firefox, Chrome, etc so perhaps someone could confirm if it's the same in those browsers. Pete.
andybarton Posted September 27, 2015 Share #8 Posted September 27, 2015 Yes, it does (with Chrome at least). I can't comment on IE or any of the other minor browsers.

I don't think they're cropped. Have you tried clicking on one?
Olsen Posted September 28, 2015 Author Share #11 Posted September 28, 2015 Ah, thanks - that solved the centering/cropping issue. But then pictures laid out here in the old forum - don't have the resolution that is now available....
