No, these aren't underwater, but a couple of weeks ago I posted images of my new underwater rig based on the little camera. I have recently purchased a C-Lux 1, and believe that Leica/Pan hit the sweet spot with this camera. I would be interested to know what your standard settings are when you use the camera; i.e., iso, ev, etc., and any other pieces of advice you can share regarding the camera. I'm unhappy about the fact that Leica have still not found it necessary to put a viewfinder back on the little point and shoot cameras. I noticed Canon put a viewfinder on their tiny PowerShot 700 IS, so at least someone has begun to reverse the trend. I'm also unhappy about not having RAW capabilities with the C-Lux 1. burkey Posted August 1, 2006 Share #6 Posted August 1, 2006 Brent - good points. I too have noticed a number of small digital point and shoots showing up with viewfinders again. I bought a black Delkin hood for my CLUX. It took a bit of the design coolness away but at least I can see images somewhat when shooting outdoors in bright light. Fill flash is still a problem and is very difficult to predict when overexposed foregrounds will occur. But for available light use it makes some very nice images. I keep the camera at minimum compression, maximum pixels, standard setting (not "natural" or "vivid") stabilize 2, flash off, 1/3 to 2/3 stop under exposure. FX07 looks to match the FX01 externally so as to fit into the underwater enclosure. Pany looks to have put themselves in a pickle producing the underwater enclosure early for the FX01 as the FX50 is the same form factor but with a 3" LCD which I would imagine would help out underwater. If you go to the following web page and compare the three cameras you will see that the FX50 is a bit taller and wider, about a quarter inch, and a trace thicker. http://panasonic.co.jp/pavc/global/lumix/popup/compare_products/index.html Is it worth it for the larger screen? gepetto Posted August 5, 2006 Share #12 Posted August 5, 2006 Stuart to continue Bruce's thoughts on the FX07 one big advantage it has over the FX01 is the SD slot accepts the next generation SD cards bigger than 2gigs. I have seen a remarkable transition from interesting to stunning images from the old forum to this one. I really liked the lizards and all your other posts. Yes it would be a luxury to have an FX07 to compare with my FX01. On the positive side the high ISO numbers would be interesting to play with. But I wonder about the possible negative points. What will the images look like? With Panasonic, each jump in megapixels has resulted in more complaints about noise on some forums. Leica does not carry Panasonic's FZ line but looking at those cameras gives you a good idea of what may happen with the new FX cameras. I think that image quality peaked at the five megapixel FZ5 and FZ20. Some reviewers have agreed that "pixel for pixel" the five megapixel cameras are better then their replacements. In addition the Leica zoom lens in the FZ20 has a wider aperture number at full zoom than the newer FZ30 and FZ50. There are even people who think that even older, 4 megapixel FZ cameras are more useful at high ISO than the five megapixel and greater ones. This is just a way of saying that I'm very happy with my FX01. The wide angle and small size is something I have been looking for for a long time. The only thing I want more of in a compact camera is image quality. I can live with what I have now in that regard, and I'm not positive that the new generation of cameras will have better image quality. Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

It looks to be the exact same layout and size of the FX01 so it should fit without a problem into the underwater enclosure. It even lists underwater as an exposure mode. The significant changes for the FX07 as mentioned the updated SD slot for larger than 2gig SD cards. Venus Engine III for better high ISO and better power consumption. It is rating 320 images on one battery charge. Those lizards were great. I have a lizard image somewhere. My nephew was in charge of watching it over a holiday break from school. I think it looks similar to one of the ones you captured. If I find it I will post it in your thread. If you find one of those money trees I will gladly help you at harvest time.
