I used to use a 49mm diopter for light macro work with my rx1 but I found that it would bend my images too much. This old lens is very similar in that it gives me a slight boost in magnification but there's no bending at all. I'm not sure what you mean, it only works when I have the camera in macro mode, it screws on like a diopter and lets me use autofocus.
