Advertisement Posted June 28, 2017 Posted June 28, 2017 Hi jaapv, Take a look here Leica M9 Corrosion - Sensor Replacement Starts Now!. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
acolite Posted June 28, 2017 Share #182 Â Posted June 28, 2017 I just received my M9-P back! Sent the camera off mid March, they recieved it and sent me a quote of repairs that needed to be done, including sensor replacement on March 21st. Â So about 13 weeks total turn around, which was about how much I expected. I also got a free Leica stainless steel water bottle. Â I sent my 50mm Summilux with the camera too, but it didn't get returned and I know it was finished, so I'm going to have to give Leica NJ a quick call to follow up. Hoping it just got sent in a separate shipment.
lzhjinny Posted June 29, 2017 Share #183  Posted June 29, 2017 I received the estimate confirmation, but Leica said need to charge some fees, such as labour hour cost, a material named "flexible board" need to be replaced, totally cost 222.92 EUR, does anyone meet this situation? or Leica change the policy already and start to charge the replacement? p.s: my camera hasn't any electronic problem, just the CCD corrosion.
rramesh Posted June 29, 2017 Share #184 Â Posted June 29, 2017 Since Leica disassembles the camera to change sensor, is there something else I should get done for a small additional fee, of course?
jaapv Posted June 29, 2017 Share #185 Â Posted June 29, 2017 You could have the top engraved (another three months wait, I guess), or have the camera changed from black to bright chrome or the other way around, or ask for a-la-carte leather.

That has been the case since the beginning of the replacement programme, and not unreasonable IMO. I can assure you that they are not looking for extra work right now. rramesh Posted July 8, 2017 Share #187 Â Posted July 8, 2017 Advertisement (gone after registration) Could someone advice how much the top plate will cost to change while my sensor is being replaced? I would imagine I would not have to pay for opening up the camera and servicing it.
