Advertisement Posted August 25, 2015 Posted August 25, 2015 Hi michmo57, Take a look here New Leica x-u typ113. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
johnloumiles Posted August 25, 2015 Share #2 Â Posted August 25, 2015 X 113 with viewfinder or some variation. We already know by labeling X that it will be APS sensor with fixed lens. Latest X was only released a year ago so it's too soon for the 114. Just process of elimination.
Fotograph Posted August 25, 2015 Share #3 Â Posted August 25, 2015 X 113 in silver?
johnloumiles Posted August 25, 2015 Share #4 Â Posted August 25, 2015 No not that, already have one in silver with the coffee colored grip. Plus I don't think they'd have to file a new patent for aesthetic changes.
bachmanns Posted August 25, 2015 Share #5 Â Posted August 25, 2015 Maybe a replacement for the X Vario?
rjans Posted August 25, 2015 Share #6 Â Posted August 25, 2015 Perhaps a X 113 with wifi and touchscreen like on the Q? Â Best
asiafish Posted August 25, 2015 Share #7  Posted August 25, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) Its still Typ 113, so like the M-P vs the M, it is likely just a modest change to specs. Perhaps a faster processor or faster AF, or maybe even just moving the aperture to lens. jevidon Posted August 26, 2015 Share #8 Â Posted August 26, 2015 Possibly an X2 (X-E ) with a fixed 28mm lens as APSC downsized version of the Q? Or a 28mm version of the X incorporating the EVF?
asiafish Posted August 26, 2015 Share #9 Â Posted August 26, 2015 My dream would be exactly the same as the current X, but with a 50mm f/2, but I doubt it.
wda Posted August 26, 2015 Share #10 Â Posted August 26, 2015 Mine would be for an update of the X1 while retaining the the same form factor and size. Just replace the flash with an EVF like the Q. If that requires retention of the excellent Elmarit lens, I could live with that.
rramesh Posted August 26, 2015 Share #11 Â Posted August 26, 2015 Sounds like an X with a built-in selfie stick for U. Timed to be delivered with Episode 7, maybe?
michmo57 Posted August 29, 2015 Author Share #12 Â Posted August 29, 2015 Looks like the new X-U will be fullframe, interchangeable lens. May look like the old leicaflex cameras. Â Camera with 50mm cron f/2 $8,000.00 Â thenewcamera.com
ropo54 Posted August 29, 2015 Share #13 Â Posted August 29, 2015 Just curious, if the new X-U is as described in the above post, why would LEICA have even bothered to come out with the Q? Â Why not just develop a suitable 28 mm. to mate with the X-U?
mjh Posted August 29, 2015 Share #14  Posted August 29, 2015 The nice thing about Leica’s naming scheme is that you can guess what a camera will be like if you just have a name to go on. An X-U (Typ 113) can only be a minor variant of the X (Typ 113). Which implies that it is neither a full-frame nor a system camera. The only remaining question is what ‘U’ signifies. ropo54 Posted August 29, 2015 Share #15 Â Posted August 29, 2015 You may be correct, but that is contrary to the article referred to above in THENEWCAMERA.com
mjh Posted August 29, 2015 Share #16  Posted August 29, 2015 You may be correct, but that is contrary to the article referred to above in THENEWCAMERA.com They are creating a mash-up of unrelated info. There is a rumour about a new mirrorless system from Leica and there is the fact that Leica has registered a new camera called ‘X-U (Typ 113)’, but nothing to suggest that both news were in any way related. ropo54 Posted August 30, 2015 Share #17  Posted August 30, 2015 Your point about the naming scheme with the Leica X designation makes sense, for sure. Thank you.
Guytou Posted August 30, 2015 Share #18  Posted August 30, 2015 It is perhaps about a device of a special series with only one different external material or color.  "U" like Uniform...   Guy
NZDavid Posted September 3, 2015 Share #19 Â Posted September 3, 2015 U for Unobtainable -- so far. An X body with interchangeable lenses would be very handy but who knows? Unlikely? Unless a celebrity is testing it already and it has a code name. Ursula? Can we expect a leaked picture soon? Undercover camera?
